My name is Frans Vogels, living in Eindhoven. I have been fishing since I was 8 years old, starting as a coarse fisherman and later moving into competitive fishing. I did this very intensively for 5 years and won many competitions. For years I have fished throughout the Netherlands catching roach, bream and ide. In 2006 I came into contact with barbel for the first time. After that I never used a fixed stick again
had hands. After the first bite I immediately knew that this was what I had been looking for for a long time. Those bites, drills, ... so fantastic to experience. The typical sound of the tail slapping when the barbel first comes to the surface…. The enjoyment of other people during their catch, the radiation you see in their eyes...
In short, the king of the current, the barbel has been my target ever since
fish. I have completely specialized in it.

Pellets are my favorite bait, and if the first quick bite fails, I prefer to leave the rig in place. It is important for me to know how the bait behaves. For me it has to have a long shelf life under water. Where there is oil there can be no water is my motto.
